Nashville- based Tristen kicked off the NXNE series with us, with her own brand of country and folk. She sang sweetly to the accompaniment of three guitars and drums, backed by her friends Buddy, Jordan and Ben. With a mild twang, she takes cues from her old country and rock, however sugary her songs may sound, thematically, they wrestle with more than just love. It's love, and all the complications that go with it, in true Dolly Parton-form.
